The Autism Directory is run by parents of children with autism. When we were given the diagnosis we were completely unaware about autism. We knew very little about it, what caused it or what we could do to help our children. We felt isolated and alone.

The Autism Directory was created because parents should not feel that they are alone. There is help and support out there, but if people don’t know what or where it is how to access it then it is of no benefit to them.

There are many parent groups, online resources, charities and much more than can help us on an individual level to give practical help and advice for our family situation and needs. We just need to know it’s there and how to get it.
The Autism Directory aims to pull together all that is out there and signpost autism families to the help they need. It does not intend to duplicate anything but just to pull it all together in one easy to use website that can be returned to again and again to get information, support and help.

Our team are mainly volunteers giving their time freely. We also have business partners who help us by providing their services or products either free of charge or at a substantially reduced cost.
