Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
With a diagnosis of autism or related condition it is possible they could be entitled to DLA. This allowance provides financial help with ‘personal care’ and /or ‘mobility’ and each having 3 levels of care: Low, Middle and High rate. You can get help with the application process and support in claiming and disputing the award from Cerebra.

Carers Allowance (CA)
If they are awarded DLA you may also then be entitled to Carers Allowance if you are the main carer of the person awarded DLA and you look after them for at least 35 hours a week and you earn no more than £100 a week.

TAX Credits
if you get tax credits, then you need to tell them the person you are looking after is getting DLA, and this will increase the tax credits you can claim.

Direct Payments
Local council payments for people who have been assessed as needing help from social services, and who would like to arrange and pay for their own care and support services instead of receiving them directly from the local council.

Free Nappies
