Applied Behaviour Analysis

This is an approach that teaches social, motor and verbal behaviours as well as reasoning skills to children with autism who may not otherwise ‘pick up’ these behaviours on thier own as other children would.

Qualified ABA Therapists work with your child and family to teach these behaviours in what is often an intensive program of one-to-one tutoring.

Originating in America it is also known as the Lovaas Method of ABA.

Biomedical Interventions

Many children on the autistic spectrum have a range of related health problems, some very serious, often concerning the gut and immune system.

These medical problems develop and affect behaviour and learning. Addressing these health needs often has positive effects on what are perceived to be `autistic’ behaviours and symptoms. Many children improve with biomedical interventions, some so much that they are losing their diagnosis of Autism. NB This is not a cure, but an approach that helps those children that have autistic traits (and possibly a diagnosis of autism) due to the gut and immune system issues they have.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which is based on treating the individual with highly diluted remedies which triggers the body’s natural system of healing. It works on the principle of “like cures like” and since homeopathic remedies are non-toxic, there are no side effects and they are safe for babies.

While biomedical treatments and therapy can address some things piecemeal, homeopathy takes a holistic approach and creates improvement in all areas.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

The assessment and treatment of physical and psychiatric conditions using specific, purposeful activity to prevent disability and promote independent function in all aspects of daily life.
