Why sponsor us?
Autism is an invisible disability. You cannot tell by looking at a child that they have additional needs or how severe their challenge is with everyday situations that you and I take in our stride. You see them as naughty or unruly and blame us as parents for being undisciplined with them.
Autism is on the increase. It is not going away and more and more families will be placed in this pressured situation. More and more public money will have to go into funding to support the additional needs of these children, and where that funding is not available, families crumble and the children live in a world where they are not understood, are punished for being different and grow up in a society that does not accept them.
We are parents with autistic children. We do not know what the future holds for our children. We do not know if they will be able to live independently from us, whether they will find love, get married, have children of their own. We do not know how society will treat them. All we know is that we love them unconditionally, and will do what we must to improve their chances of living a life of opportunity like any other child.
You can help
Our mission is to help autism families get the help they need and create a future of inclusion and acceptance for our autistic children in a world where not being ok is not ok.
The Autism Directory will go some way to achieve that however there is much more that needs to be done and we have big plans to take the concept of the directory further. Our goals include ‘Autism Resource Centres’ across the UK where we will provide training, awareness and resources for all families in the community. Sponsorship is a way of raising much needed funds to support these plans and help change the future for our children.
There are a limited number of sponsorships available to raise the profile of your business or venture and show the world that you have a big heart and embrace diversity and difference.
The ‘Market’
The potential for your business is huge. There is an estimated 6 million people in the UK that are directly impacted by autism in their family. Currently as many as 1 in 40 boys are being diagnosed, with boys being 4 times more likely than girls to have autism. It is more prevalent now than childhood cancer, AIDS and Down’s Syndrome combined. As diagnosis rates rise, awareness of this condition will grow and more and more families will be looking for help. The Autism Directory is here to point them in the direction of that help.
What’s In It For You?
As a sponsor your business will have a Banner Ad on our website in a key positions (see options below) and be included in our regular newsletters . You can have advertising space for any campaigns you are running and get full exposure at our social and fund raising events.
There are a number of places across The Autism Directory website where you can display your banner:
On Every Page: On the left hand side of every page are 4 sponsorship banners below the social media icons. These are embedded into the page template and display on each and every page across the site.
In the Directories: In each of the 10 directories (eg Health, Education etc) there is a banner entry that displays at the very top of the directory listings and remains there whatever filters are used to show the directory entries. There is just 1 space per directory category available.
By Sub-Category and Region: In each of the 10 directories, second banners are displayed when a specific ’Sub-Category’ and a ’Region’ are selected from the filters (eg ‘Special Schools’ and ‘South West’). There is just 1 space per sub-category / region combination.
